Sitter_Pete4x6 (2)Pete is the founder and principal of PSM. His 30 years’ experience in B2B and B2C marketing  is divided between  work with consulting/advertising firms and executive positions with industry category leaders.

His marketing career started with a small ad agency in Erie, PA as a creative/copywriter developing TV, Radio and Print advertising for accounts such as Workingman’s Savings and Loan, Waldameer Amusement Park, and Erie CableVision. Later, as Director, Account Services at Tal, Inc., the region’s largest advertising agency, Pete had responsibility for First National Bank of Pennsylvania, Hamot Medical Center, Pennbank, Troyer Farms, and McDonalds Restaurants. In addition, he acted as an in-house resource for B2C accounts such as Welch Foods, Hershey Chocolate, and Apple Computer and B2B accounts such a AMSCO (American Sterilizer), EMCO Wheaton and Morelite.

In 1993 Pete accepted the position of Regional Vice President, Marketing and Public Affairs for PNC Bank. His responsibilities included directing regional advertising and marketing programs, community and media relations, advisory board activities, and all internal and external communications for 60 PNC Bank offices in northwest Pennsylvania.

While at PNC, Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield offered Pete a growth opportunity to oversee the companies’ efforts to enhance its image throughout northwest Pennsylvania. Pete advanced quickly to eventually have responsibility for Highmark’s largest account and managing the profitability of over $260 million in health insurance premiums. In his position as Director, Regional Relationship Management and Market Strategy, Pete introduced account planning, sales consultation, and market segmentation concepts to improve retention and build market share and brand equity among Highmark clients.

Pete left Highmark in 2004 to accept the position of Senior Vice President Marketing and Communications at Saint Vincent Health System where he established the organization’s brand position “We Know How to Treat People” and positioned the health system as the preferred source for life threatening/serious conditions. His responsibilities included facilitating development of the health system strategic plan and 3C focus (Clinical Excellence, Customer Satisfaction and Compassion).

In 2010 Pete established PSM a concierge marketing firm serving a select client base. PSM is on the leading edge with a unique marketing approach that includes employees as an indispensible part of the consumer and product/service relationship that defines brands.
